While the date for the General Election is not yet known, don't wait until it's announced before you secure your right to vote. Registering to vote only takes a few minutes.
The time between the election date being announced and the last change to register to vote can be a matter of a few days. If you are not on the electoral register, you won’t be able to vote.

Moved house? Don’t leave your vote behind!
We also remind residents who have moved house that their chance to vote in this year’s General Election may have been lost in the move.
That’s because when you change address, you need to re-register with your new details, just because you are paying council tax at your new address doesn’t automatically mean that you will be on the electoral register there – you need to contact us separately. This applies whether you have bought your home, or whether are renting.
Am I registered to vote?
If you are not sure if you are registered or eligible to vote please call our offices on 01362 656875 and our staff will be able to check for you. Our contact centre is open Monday to Thursday 8am until 6pm and Friday from 8am until 5pm.
