For the purposes of this information site the term 'licence' is used to cover a range of licence permits, authorisations and notifications. Whilst each term a different meaning in law, it allows an activity to take place legally.

Gambling Act 2005  - Draft Revised Statement of Principles

Licensing authorities are required by the Gambling Act to publish a statement of the principles which they propose to apply when exercising their functions.  This statement must be reviewed and published at least every three years and any amended parts re- consulted on.

Breckland Council has now reviewed its current statement of principles and are consulting widely on the reviewed statement before finalising and publishing it.

The proposed Statement of Principles can be viewed online on our website www.breckland.gov.uk (Draft Revised Statement of Principles link) please contact us for a hard copy of the document.
