For the purposes of this information site the term 'licence' is used to cover a range of licence permits, authorisations and notifications. Whilst each termc a different meaning in law, it allows an activity to take place legally.

Gambling Act 2005  - Draft Revised Statement of Principles

Licensing authorities are required by the Gambling Act to publish a statement of the principles which they propose to apply when exercising their functions.  This statement must be reviewed and published at least every three years and any amended parts re- consulted on.

Breckland Council has now reviewed its current statement of principles and are consulting widely on the reviewed statement before finalising and publishing it.

The proposed Statement of Principles can be viewed online on our website www.breckland.gov.uk (Draft Revised Statement of Principles link)  or a hard copy can be obtained by contacting the Licensing Team on 01362 656870.

The last date for comments to be received is 15 September 2009, which can be made by letter to Licensing Team, Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke, Dereham, Norfolk, NR19 1EE or by email to licensingteam@breckland.gov.uk.

Gaming Machines

For gaming machines applications forms, please contact the licensing team on 01362 656870 or email them at licensingteam@breckland.gov.uk .

Street Collector Applications

If you want to arrange a Street Collection, you need to need to apply for a permit.  Only one collection is allowed in a town on any given day, you will therefore need to contact Breckland Council to arrange the permit and to book in a time slot.  Please contact the team on 01362 656870.
