Development Control in Breckland

The Development Control team are responsible for:

• processing planning applications
• dealing with appeals if planning permission is refused
• dealing with complaints if someone is doing something without permission
• performing enforcement
• providing advice on all aspects of the planning permission process
• advice on new development to Listed Buildings
  (along with our Historic Buildings Officer)
• advice on new development in Conservation Area
  (along with our Historic Buildings Officer)

The team has around 30 staff, including professional Development Control Officers, Technical Officers and Technical Support Officers.

Each year we process approximately 2000 planning applications.
