Landlord Information Day - April 2006 |
![]() If you rent out properties in the private sector, you need to know about the Housing Act 2004, which came into effect this year.
The Act brought in new regulations around licensing for properties in multiple occupation (where more than 2 households rent one property), rent deposits and empty properties, and also introduces the new Housing Health & Safety Rating System which replaces the Fitness Standard for residential properties.
On 11 April 2006 we held an Information day for Landlords in partnership with Training for Professionals, an expert advice and training company. The event was very well attended, with over 30 landlords and other interested people coming along. Everyone who attended the day rated it as either ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’, giving it an overall score of nearly 9 out of 10 in our satisfaction survey. We also held another session in May which concentrated on the new Tenancy Deposit Protection regulations, where nearly 50 landlords attended and rated the event good or excellent.
