Whether you are starting a business or you have been running a business for 10 years, chances are you will need some help on specific or general issues.
Over the years Breckland Council has been involved with various organisations and has taken several significant actions to support new businesses in the District. To deliver these aims the Council has an Economic Development Service that can put you in direct contact with a range of organisations that can provide business advice, marketing support, ICT advice and financial assistance in the form of grants, loans and equipment hire.
Specifically the Council supports business through enabling our partners to deliver business support services on our behalf. In this way we can provide a wide and varied 'toolkit' of support that includes:
- Financial support: grants, assistance on financial packaging, including securing grant support from other organisations, and access to finance.
- Marketing advice: to implement a marketing plan that leads to improved business performance and profitability from improved promotional activity, increased market penetration and new product development.
- ICT advice: to encourage better use of Information and Communication Technology, including e-trading, Broadband Internet, system networking leading to improved business performance and operational efficiency.
- Premises and land: advice on premises location and land sales.
Breckland's Economic Development service works hard to help and support business start-ups, relocation schemes and the advocacy of existing businesses in the district.
Working in partnership with local training providers, various funding bodies, community groups, business centres, transport providers and tourism centres we have built a network of support for all kinds of businesses, the district as a whole and its people.
Through the Economic Development service the Council has initiated a number of projects which all work towards making and promoting the district as an even better place to live and work. These include providing businesses with advice and discussion forums, funding, grants and a wealth of information and advice.
