Caravan Sites - Licensing |
Licensing of holiday or permanent residential caravan sites is administered by our Private Sector Housing Team. This covers both permanent and temporary residential and non-residential touring and non-touring sites. All sites must have planning permission before a licence can be granted. Our Private Sector Housing Team normally receive notification from our Planning section, but if an application is received direct by the team, we inform the applicant that they must have planning permission first. In simple terms, the procedure for obtaining a licence has the following stages:
Licences are granted for varying amounts of time, dependent on planning permission. if a long-term licence is granted the site will usually be visited by an officer from the Private Sector Housing Team on a regular basis to ensure the conditions of the licence are being maintained.
