    The Live Music Act received Royal Assent on 8 March 2012 and came into effect on 1 October 2012. The Live Music Act 2012 (the Act) amends the Licensing Act 2003 in several areas:

    Live unamplified music provided anywhere is not classed as regulated entertainment between the hours of 8am and 11pm regardless of the number of people in the audience.

    A Personal Licence authorises an individual to sell or supply alcohol from a licensed premises.

    Club Premises Certificate

    Club Premises Certificate

    A Club Premises Certificate is required for clubs that members join for a particular social, sporting or political purpose and then combine to purchase alcohol in bulk for members. The club has restricted access to the public (non-members) and the alcohol is supplied to members for no profit.

    A Club Premises Certificate authorises the following activities:

    A Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) is required in any licensed premises where alcohol is supplied

    With the exception of community premises, church halls and village halls (see Disapplication of DPS below) the DPS is expected to be the point
