Christmas Charity Car Wash
Christmas Charity Car Wash
Members of Breckland Youth Council are preparing to roll up their sleeves to take part in a Christmas Community Carwash on Saturday 17th December at Thetford Fire Station to raise money for charity.
Motorists are invited to take their car along and have it washed in return for a donation to the ‘Have a heart’ appeal which is fundraising for Childline this year.
Across the UK the NSPCC provides services such as 24-hour helplines, therapeutic and young witness centres - each one making a big difference to children’s lives.
And by making a donation of £4, this will answer a child's call for help on ChildLine. If you would like to donate more than that anything over £4 will go towards The Fire-fighters Charity.
Breckland Youth Council will be joined by Fire-fighters from the Fire Station on Norwich Road, Thetford and members from the Prince’s Trust Team programme.
On the day the Pride in Breckland team will be brimming with Christmas cheer as they dress up and invite youngsters to have a go at their free lucky dip and take a closer look at the fire station’s fire engine!
Hannah McNicol, Breckland Youth Councillor said; “We think it’s important for young people to have a say and ensure their voices are heard, whoever they are and wherever they’re from. We can all make a difference and support children and young people all over the country that may have nowhere else to turn. Initiatives like this are a great way to raise money to help and also have some fun along the way!”
Motorists are encouraged to bring their vehicles to the Fire Station on Norwich Road between 10am – 1pm.
