HONOR Award
The launch of the HONOR Award took place in Thetford in September 2010.
Meet up Cafe, Cafe One at Keystone Trust, Breckland Leisure Centre and Tall Orders were picked as some of the eating establishments where the public benefit from having the choice of a Healthier Option on their menu.
Presenting the Awards, Paul Claussen, Executive Member for Planning, Health and Housing said "It is important that Breckland residents have access to healthier options when eating out.
The aim of the Award is for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to customer care through the provision of healthier food cvhoices, to help reduce obesity and heart disease in the Breckland area".
The Award was developed by Breckland Council and Norwich City Council in partnership with Trading Standards, Thetford Healthy Town, Pride in Breckland and Norwich City College.
All catering establishments in Breckland with a satisfactory hygiene rating are eligible to apply for the HONOR - pubs, hotels, restaurants, takeaway outlets, workplaces, sandwich bars, school or hospital dining rooms.
