Lights, camera, action!
Lights, cameras, action! If you are aged between 11-14 years and would love to learn the secrets of film-making, then a new project film beginning in March will teach you everything you need to know.
Organised by Breckland Council, the new Film Making course will cover all the skills you need to become the next Scorsese. Over the 15 weeks, participants will learn how to plan and write scripts, direct, use professional movie-making equipment, edit film and add music.
Lynda Turner, Breckland Council Executive Member for Localism, Community and Environmental Services said: “The aim of this course is to equip children with new skills, and we hope to offer those taking part an Art Award qualification once they have completed the course. After finishing the course, participants will have the opportunity to try out their new skills by working together to create their own film based on Jubilee memories. This will be screened later in the year as part of Breckland’s Jubilee celebrations”.
The course will run at The Surge in Watton on Tuesdays beginning 6 March, and at the Swaffham Community Centre (the small hall) in Swaffham on Wednesdays beginning 7 March. Both courses will run from 4 – 6 pm. The course is free of charge and places can be booked through Breckland Council Anti-Social Behaviour Officer Sarah Smith on 01362 656870.
