Performers wanted – aged seven to seventy!
Choreographer, Laura McGill, is on the look-out for people aged seven to seventy, who love to perform.
Recruits can look forward to helping create and perform a unique, site specific dance production against the beautiful backdrop of Narborough Hall. ‘Spring Dances’ has been commissioned by Norfolk Dance in partnership with Breckland Council to provide opportunities for people of all ages to participate in an innovative production, and encourage visitors to look at the Hall and gardens in a new way. No experience is needed to participate, just enthusiasm, commitment and a love of movement and performing.
This community dance project is part of the Council’s ongoing dance development work, to get more people dancing in the district. Breckland and Norfolk Dance have worked with Litcham High School over the last year, using their state of the art dance studio; the studio now has a regular adult contemporary class and a youth dance company. In this new project, Norfolk Dance will bring together people of all ages, with a common interest to dance.
Lynda Turner, Breckland Council Executive Member for Localism, Community and Environmental Services said: “If you have always wanted to try dancing and or performing then this is the ideal opportunity to have a go, together with like-minded people. We are particularly encouraging people who live in the Breckland area but anyone is welcome to apply”.
A taster workshop will be held on Saturday 3rdMarch at Litcham High School, for anyone wanting to learn more about the project. Rehearsals will take place towards the end of March and throughout April leading up to a performance in April 22nd. To book onto the taster workshop or for more information, please contact Laura McGill on 01603 283399 or email laura@norfolkdance.co.uk
