
Our Economic Development service has links with many community regeneration initiatives, adding value and encouraging new input with a 'business' perspective.
The main roles of the service are to:
- apply policy and strategic thinking to initiatives, ensuring most benefit
- community, cultural and economic regeneration
- encourage take-up of external funding opportunities and of publicly-funded business and skills support services
- assist with inward investment enquiries and procedures
- link with other agencies - voluntary and statutory to ensure business needs are met and opportunities are exploited to their full potential
- work with the Employment Service and other agencies to ensure an appropriately skilled workforce is available for now and the future.
New Breckland Enterprise & Learning Account (BELA) Launched
Funding has been pledged by the Local Strategic Partnership and Breckland Council in the form of a small grant package up to £500, which the applicant must match, for prospective start up and established micro businesses (less than 10 employees) in Breckland. The Breckland Enterprise & Learning Account or BELA for short, can provide assistance to applicants who often need early stage business and skills support in areas such as access to crucial or critical training schemes or purchase/hire of essential small items of equipment. BELA cannot support paying off debts or refinancing, financial investments or VAT payments. If you are interested in applying for a BELA grant you should first check the eligibility criteria which can be found by downloading the Guidance here.
