Fire Safety Licences

' '

Fire Safety Licences are used for making sure that petrol, poisons and explosives are stored and sold in safe conditions. This means that sellers of petrol and poisons must be licensed by Trading Standards; and that anyone who stores explosives, including fireworks, has to be registered by Trading Standards. This includes shops and other retailers where fireworks are on sale

Part of our job is to inspect all these premises regularly, to make sure that the public are not at risk. Trading Standards also enforces the laws regarding how these products are sold - for example underage sales of fireworks or petrol being dispensed into unsuitable containers.

If you are a Breckland business and want to apply for a licence or registration, or need advice on these issues, please contact Norfolk County Council Trading Standards

For detailed information on fire safety, fire certificates and fire regulations, please refer to the Norfolk Fire Service
