Breckland Council are launching an outreach service for an initial period of six months, providing information and advice on housing issues to rural parishes throughout the district.
The mobile unit will play an important role in helping home owners, tenants and landlords in providing advice and assistance to customers on important housing issues such as overcrowding, mortgage and rent arrears, landlord and tenant issues and much more.
This initiative was developed following a period of consultation with residents in Breckland who were concerned about the lack of opportunity for housing information and advice in rural areas.
Starting in May, Breckland Council’s housing advice team will be at various locations in Breckland:
Tuesday, 13 May – Ashill and Garvestone
Wednesday 21 May – Great Hockham and Weeting with Broomhill
Tuesday 27 May – North Lopham and Garboldisham
Wednesday 4 June – Litcham
Wednesday 11 June – Ashill and Garvestone
Appointments are not necessary. Further information about future dates, times and locations can be found in this document (PDF) or by phoning: 01362 656870.
“Housing information and advice should be available to all people regardless of circumstances,” commented Kay Fisher, Executive Member for Environment and Housing at Breckland Council. “We are confident that this new mobile advice service will reach all those hard-to-reach residents in the rural parishes of Breckland and provide much-needed advice and guidance for their housing needs.”
