Every year thousands of people decide to start their own business - wanting to be their own boss, turn a hobby into a career or simply to try something new.

Although the process can be daunting, there is a whole array of help and advice available.

The first port of call for anyone looking to set up in business is an Enterprise Agency who can advise on a range of things from finance to regulations.

The Council and a variety of publicly funded agencies can help support your new business ideas and help you get started on your road to self-employment.  Norfolk has four Enterprise Agencies that can assist you to get started in your new business, whether it its offering advice, support, training or assistance with access to funding:

Online Business Start-Up Pack

A Business Start Up Pack is also available from Breckland Council with the aim of increasing awareness of assistance available to entrepreneurs in the area. The information covers a variety of organisations, as well as giving contacts for those seeking advice and funding for a new enterprise, or businesses wishing to expand as well as communities and non-profit making charities. All organisations that can offer advice or funding for a business project are included, from the Prince's Trust to the Inland Revenue.
