Connexions / Careers Service
Connexions is an advice and guidance service for 13-19s, dealing with all aspects of a young person's life. Connexions in this region is delivered by the Connexions Norfolk partnership. Connexions is there to help you make the most of your life. If you need information and advice or someone to talk to about problems, decisions or worries then Connexions Norfolk is there to listen to you.

WorkWise
WorkWise is a programme delivered by the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce & Industry. It provides a 2/3 day personal development programme delivered to groups of 25 students in schools throughout Norfolk. The programme is facilitated by business volunteers who have undertaken specific training.

Prince's Trust
Is a UK charity that helps young people overcome barriers and get their lives working. Through practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance, they help 14-30 year olds realise their potential and transform their lives. They focus their efforts on those who've struggled at school, been in care, been in trouble with the law, or are long-term unemployed.
The Prince's Trust runs a business start-up programme and if you are aged 18-30, unemployed have an idea for a business but can't raise all the cash you need from anywhere else the Prince's Trust could help you get up and running. Support includes low interest loans of up to £4,000 for a sole trader, or up to £5,000 for a partnership (the average loan is between £2,000 and £3,000 but varies regionally), grants up to £1,500 in special circumstances, a test marketing grant of up to £250, ongoing business support and specialist advice such as the free Legal Helpline and ongoing advice from a volunteer business mentor.

Young Enterprise
Founded in 1963 to forge links between schools and industry, Young Enterprise is all about enjoyment and having fun whilst "Learning by doing". This learning and enjoyment applies to everyone, the business people who support the scheme as well as the young people involved. Their best known, and still most popular programme, is The Company Programme, in which students set up and run their own company over one academic year. Young Enterprise has developed more programmes to suit different ages and abilities.

The Exchange
With Norfolk firms needing increasing numbers of well-educated young people, The Exchange is strengthening links between education and business across the county. Last year alone, they helped 9,000 youngsters spend up to two weeks on Work Experience and arranged for thousands more to take part in in-school business-based activities. Teachers, too, were helped to spend time with local firms to discover their staffing needs.

Shell Step
Shell Technology Enterprise Programme (STEP) is a hugely successful scheme that arranges eight-week summer work placements for the mutual benefit of employers and undergraduate students. STEP offers an ideal solution for businesses which have a problem, or need a specific project completed. Nationally, STEP has delivered more than 10,000 placements since its launch in 1986.

New Wave
New Wave is a personal development and networking group for men and women between the ages of 18-35 who are decision-makers within the business and with specialist skills (e.g. public relations, marketing, people management, budget control, etc.)
New wave is part of the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and subsequently has access to the wider national and international Chamber networks.
