Swaffham Air Quality Consultation

Part of Swaffham town centre was declared an Air Quality Management Area in May 2017 as air quality in this area has exceeded the Government's annual threshold for nitrogen dioxide by a small amount.

Nitrogen dioxide is produced by combustion - this includes heating systems, industry and traffic.

Breckland Council, together with Swaffham Town Council and Norfolk County Council, has produced an Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP) consultation document. This proposes measures to improve air quality in the town centre that the Breckland and its partner organisations will investigate.

Breckland is asking residents, business and organisations in the town for their views as to which measures in the AQAP consultation document the council and its partner organisations should investigate and progress.

You can take part in the consultation here. The consultation finishes on 23 February 2018.
