26/11/18: White Ribbon flag flown to support campaign to stop domestic abuse

Breckland Council raised the White Ribbon flag this week to send a clear message of support across Norfolk that domestic abuse would not be tolerated in our society.

Cllr Richard Duffield, Chairman of Breckland Council, said: "Breckland Council is flying the White Ribbon flag outside Elizabeth House today to demonstrate the Council's support for White Ribbon Day and to help raise awareness of domestic abuse in the home. Domestic abuse is a crime that thrives on shame and secrecy. Abusers rely on the silence of their victims and our message is that, whether it is to come forward and seek help or to report suspected abuse, no one should stay silent."
