11/03/19: Resurfacing & Drainage Repairs to Theatre Street Car Park, Swaffham
Work will commence on, or shortly after, Tuesday 26th March this year on Swaffham's Theatre Street car park, which will include repairs and improvements to the existing surface water drainage, complete re-surfacing of the car park and the re-lining of all bays and road markings. This will be carried out in three consecutive phases to allow limited use of some areas of the car park throughout the contract period.
Phase 1 work will be taking place at the rear of the car park, followed by Phase 2 and 3 work will be taking place on the front left and right of the car park.
Phase 1 will be closed for approximately 2 weeks from 26.3.19 to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic whilst drainage and re-surfacing works are completed for that area. Phases 2 & 3 will remain open for parking whilst phase 1 is being worked on. Please note that there will be no access between the Paddocks and Theatre Street across the car park for this period.
Following straight on from Phase 1, Phase 2 will then be closed for a further two weeks and re-surfaced with Phase 1 simultaneously being reopened for parking. A single entrance and exit to Phase 1 will be set up via Phase 3.
Following straight on from Phase 2, Phase 3 will be closed for drainage repairs and resurfacing works for approx. 1 week with both Phases 1 & 2 being available for parking. A single entrance and exit will be set up via Phase 2.
It is intended, subject to favourable weather conditions, to complete all works to all Phases within 6 weeks from commencement.
Breckland Council recognises that the closure and subsequent works on the car park may cause some disruption. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but hope you will understand the need for this essential maintenance work to be carried out. It is envisaged that all works will be carried out during normal working hours (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm). All other Breckland DC car parks in Swaffham will remain open as usual.
