12/03/19: Attleborough Queens Square Car Park - Tree Removal Public Information Notice
The second phase of the £4.5m Transport for Attleborough project which is set to improve all forms of transport and support planned growth in the town is due to start shortly.
This phase will concentrate on making improvements to Queens Square car park to increase the overall number of parking spaces. Prior to the main construction works taking place in May / June 2019 some tree pruning and clearance works will be required to allow the improvement works to go ahead.
These preliminary works will take place w/c 18 March for a duration of 4 days ahead of the main car park improvement work starting in May 2019.
The tree pruning and removal of two large trees and a few shrubs will require a partial closure of the car park to ensure that the safety of members of the public is maintained. Users of the car park are encouraged to find alternative transport and/or parking arrangements while the works are taking place. Replanting will be carried out at the end of the main scheme which is currently programmed to finish in Summer 2019.
The advanced tree works are due to cost approximately £3,500 and the main car park improvement works are due to cost approximately £200,000.
All the works to the Breckland District Council run car park will be carried out by Norfolk County Council's Community and Environmental Services Department and its contractors.
Norfolk County Council and Breckland District Council thank people for their patience while these preliminary works are carried out
