Warm Homes Fund Eligibility

You are eligible to apply if you are claiming one of the Core Benefits.(see below)

If you are not in receipt of one of the core benefits, then you must meet criteria from Section A, in addition to criteria from Section B or C.

You must be able to provide evidence for all criteria that you meet or you will be unable to proceed with an application for a Warm Homes Fund grant.

Core Benefits

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Job Seeker's Allowance
  • Guarantee Pension Credit
  • Universal Credit
  • Tax Credits (Child/Working)
  • Child Benefit (income capped, so you will need to provide household income)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment
  • Attendance Allowance/Constant Attendance Allowance
  • Carer's Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance/Personal Independence Payment
  • Severe Disablement Allowance
  • War Pensions Mobility Supplement
  • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit

Section A: Low Income

  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Reduction
  • Pension Savings Credit

OR

  • Income not exceeding relevant threshold (evidenced by 3 months of recent statements from all bank accounts)
  • State Pension criteria (evidenced by 3 months of recent statements from all bank accounts)

Section B: High Costs

EPC rating of F or G, if no EPC, a score of 80 on the questionnaire

This can be established through your local council


Section C: Vulnerable to Cold

  • Incapacity Benefit

OR

  • Aged 65 or over, has children under 5 or is pregnant

OR

  • On the Priority Services Register

OR

Has a heath or vulnerability condition exacerbated by living in a cold home with confirmation from

  • Letter from GP or hospital
  • Other medical professional
  • Invitation for free flu jab for health reasons
