09/07/20: Virtual performances and workshops launched by Breckland Council

Opera DudesBreckland Council's Silver Social Project is to hold a new series of arts events online, while physical venues are closed and social distancing guidance is in place. The new programme is currently being put together, however the first 2 events have been confirmed as the acclaimed singing comedy sensations, the Opera Dudes, and creative writing and poetry sessions from Dan Simpson.
The popular events start on July 14th with the incredibly popular Opera Dudes, who will be delivering two free singing workshops, followed by a free performance. Well known across the UK, the Opera Dudes offer a stunning mix of music and comedy, often described as "Il Divo meets Morecambe & Wise".

Following the Opera Dudes will be series of creative writing and poetry sessions from Dan Simpson, which will then culminate in a virtual open mic event. Dan is a new artist to Silver Social, he is highly acclaimed in his field and well-practiced in Zoom workshops across the UK.

Cllr Mark Robinson, Executive Member for Community, Leisure & Culture, commented "I am truly delighted to see the Silver Social Project launch its new programme, which has adapted to meet the changing demands due to Covid-19 and venues being closed. By using an online or telephone platform, residents will be able to once more come together virtually, be connected via the arts and help break down the isolation many of us are feeling in our community, all from the comfort of their home."
