Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open) Tier 2
Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open) Tier 2 - 2 December 2020 to 25 December 2020
About this Grant
This grant - the "Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open)" - is available to businesses that have been significantly affected due to localised lockdown restrictions ("Tier 2") but are legally allowed to remain open and continue trading.
To qualify for this grant you must be able to demonstrate that you:
- Are a Breckland-based business
- Were open and trading prior to the national restrictions (which began on the 3rd of November)
- Have been significantly and directly affected by the Tier 2 restrictions which came into force on the 2nd December*
- Satisfy all the criteria set nationally for the scheme (which includes not accepting monies in contravention to State Aid)
* Important note - this grant is designed for those impacted by the restrictions, and not the wider challenges in the economy. Applicants must be able to demonstrate how the restrictions have impacted their business.
You do not have to be a rate-paying business to qualify for this grant. However, if you do not have a business rates account, we will require further evidence that you are a legitimate, current, trading business.
Grants will be awarded on a per-business and per-hereditament basis.
We are basing our award levels on national guidance. Should the guidance change, we will adjust our approach accordingly.
Grants are being made available on a 14-day cycle. The first cycle is for 2nd December- 16th December. Should the Tier 2 restrictions continue in Breckland after the 16th, a further 14-day award will be made automatically.
The amount of grant is based on the rateable value for each business property:
|Rateable value of property||Grant for 14 days||Grant for 28 days|
|£15,000 or under||£467||£934|
|£15,001 to £50,999||£700||£1,400|
|£51,000 or over||£1,050||£2,100|
|Not Registered for Business Rates||£467||£934|
Important Note - Breckland has received a limited amount of money to support this scheme and will make payments on a first-come, first-served basis for those who can meet the eligibility criteria. We have also been asked by the Government to prioritise hospitality, hotel, bed & breakfast and leisure businesses for grant funding in this scheme- who will receive priority in allocation of awards.
Your business will not qualify for support under this scheme if it was in administration, insolvent, or a striking off order was made at the time the local restrictions started.
If you are Breckland Business Ratepayer, please do not submit this form if you do not have your Breckland Business Rates Account Reference Number or Breckland Property Reference Number as your submission will not be accepted. This information is available on your 2020-21 Breckland business rates bill or you can contact our business rates team on 01842 756568.
