How to apply

Please click 'apply now' (at the bottom of the job posting) to complete your application electronically, submitting your CV and a supporting statement.

Breckland Council is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all sections of the community. We encourage diversity and ensure that all stages of our recruitment process are fair and effective, ensuring a consistently high quality workforce.

We aim to operate a system of anonymous shortlisting and therefore request that the CV and supporting statement you upload don't contain any personal information.

If you experience any problems during your application, please email recruitment@breckland.gov.uk.

Attending an interview

What should you bring with you?

When you attend an interview at Breckland Council, you will be required to bring various documents with you. Please bring original certificates or any relevant qualifications with you to your interview.

To comply with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 we also require all interviewed candidates to bring along 'documents which provide evidence of the right to work in the UK'.

Access requirements

Please let us know in advance if you have a disability or have any other access requirements so we can ensure that you are able to fully participate in the interview process.

Criminal record checks

If the position you are interested in warrants contact with children, the elderly or other vulnerable people then you may be required to undertake a Criminal Records check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly the Criminal Records Bureau).  A disclosure is only carried out on successful candidates who have been selected for appointment, and any offer of employment will be conditional subject to the satisfactory completion of these checks. Your offer of appointment may therefore be withdrawn if your checks are not clear although having a criminal record will not necessarily preclude you from obtaining a position with the council.
