19/07/17: Chance for youngsters to stay active during the summer holidays
A programme of summer activities gets underway this month to give youngsters in Breckland a chance to take part in a range of sports and games during the school holidays.
Breckland Council's Holiday Activities Programme will give 5-11 years olds opportunities to play sports such as dodgeball, kwik [sic] cricket, rounders and Danish longball. The programme will also feature traditional playground games, including duck, duck, goose, British bulldog, parachutes and sleeping lions.
Cllr Paul Claussen, Breckland's Executive Member for Place, said: "Our Holiday Activities Programme offers a range of activities to keep children active in a fun way. Youngsters can try out new sports and develop their skills while getting the chance to socialise with other children of similar ages."
The sessions, which will be delivered by Aspire PE, will run Monday to Friday between 24 July and 31 September.
They will be held in Mundford, Watton, Swanton Morley, Bawdeswell, Attleborough, Great Hockham, Narborough and Necton.
