05/02/18: New dates announced for Kate Dimbleby's singing Silver Social workshops in Breckland
Internationally acclaimed singer Kate Dimbleby is bringing her free 'Sing Your Song' workshop back to Breckland this February as part of Breckland Council's successful Silver Social programme, which offers daytime activities aimed at older residents.
Kate encouraged residents in Breckland's five market towns to discover their inner voice and remember the songs that inspire them last month, and now she's offering residents in the district's more rural areas a chance to experience her memorable workshop.
No previous experience is necessary to attend and everyone is welcome to join in, or just sit and enjoy the company. Visitors can make a voluntary donation towards the cost of the workshop and anyone needing assistance with transport should contact the project coordinator on 01362 656852.
Cllr Paul Claussen, Executive Member for Place, said: "Kate's workshops in January went down a storm and we're thrilled to have her back. People who took part in her previous singing sessions said her energy and enthusiasm is inspirational, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. It's exciting to continue our Silver Social events and once again give Breckland residents the chance to get together with old and new friends to be creative."
For those who prefer to simply listen, Kate will be back again in March to perform her hit show 'Songbirds' in Ashill, Harling, Shipdam, Mattishall and Necton. Tickets are £5 and to book call 01362 656852 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Silver Social offers something a little different to daily life - thanks to funding from the National Lottery, through the Arts Council's Strategic Touring Programme, as well as Norfolk County Council, Breckland Council and Public Health England - with previous sessions on embroidery, cyanotype printing and poetry.
