13/03/18: Kate Dimbleby brings her hit show 'Songbirds' to Breckland for Silver Social

Internationally acclaimed singer Kate Dimbleby will perform a series of daytime performances in rural villages across Breckland this month, as part of Breckland Council's successful Silver Social programme.

Kate's acapella show 'Songbirds' will run from 19 March to 23 March at community venues in Ashill, Harling, Shipdham, Mattishall and Necton. The live show features songs from her celebrated album Songbird and comes just weeks after Kate hosted a series of fun singing workshops for Breckland's older residents, also as part of the Silver Social project.

These activities - funded by the Arts Council's National Lottery Strategic Touring Fund, Breckland Council, Norfolk County Council and Public Health England - offer residents something a little different to daily life and encourage participation in a range of arts workshops and performances.

The council-run project works in partnership with organisations including Norfolk Library Service and Norfolk Museum Service to host events at familiar local venues.

Tickets for 'Songbirds' are £5 and can be booked by calling 01362 656870 or email community@breckland.gov.uk. Tickets will also be available on the door and transport can be arranged on request. More details viaThe Silver Social.

Cllr Paul Claussen, Executive Member for Place, said: "We're thrilled to have Kate back in Breckland's rural villages, this time for her one-off live show. Her recent workshops proved incredibly popular, with her energy and enthusiasm encouraging even the most hesitant singers to join in, so I'm sure residents will really enjoy her 'Songbirds' performance."
