11/09/18: Dedicated local councillor recognised for service to the community

Cllr Keith Martin with his awardCllr Keith Martin, a serving-member of both Breckland Council and Attleborough Town Council, has been awarded a 'Certificate of Appreciation' for his long-service and dedication to the local community of Attleborough.

Cllr Martin was recently presented the award by the Mayor of Attleborough, Cllr Vera Dale. Mr Martin has lived in Attleborough for most of his life, running a successful family building business since 1967. Although now semi-retired, Cllr Martin has dedicated himself to his local community, having first been elected to Breckland Council in 1983, while also serving on Attleborough Town Council since 1983.

As well as serving on two local councils, Cllr Martin is also a Trustee of the Friends of Attleborough Surgeries, a committed member of Attleborough Horticultural Society and an avid Norwich City fan, whilst supporting his two grandsons who play for Attleborough Town FC.

Cllr Martin commented "I am truly delighted to have received this certificate of appreciation from Attleborough Town Council which I will certainly treasure. Attleborough is a wonderful town with a strong community presence, very friendly people and a place where businesses can thrive. I hope my small contribution over the years has played its' part in making Attleborough one of the most prosperous and friendliest towns in Norfolk."
