What can we collect?

Bulky household rubbish such as fridges, sofas, beds can be disposed of free of charge at yourlocal household waste recycling centres (opens in a new window). Alternatively, the council can collect your bulky rubbish for a charge.

What does it cost?

The cost for the service is £30 for 1 to 3 items and £5 per additional item up to a maximum of 6 items from a single household.

Payment for the service will need to be received in advance of the collection. Please note that this is a non-refundable service.

The items need to be placed at the boundary of your property by 7am.  The items need to be kept within your property boundary, and must be clearly visible and easily accessible for collection.

What can I do with items that cannot be collected

  • Reuse it within your own house, or give it to someone who can.
  • Use a waste bag service available from DIY stores.
  • Hire a skip from a private contractor; see local advertising; look under Skip Hire or Waste Disposal Services inYellow Pages (opens in a new window)
