Hazardous wastes are any solid or liquid material that may cause harm to people or the environment if not disposed of correctly.
We can collect small amounts of Hazardous Household Waste from Breckland residents however this free service does have it limitations. Collections will only take place when we have sufficient requests to make the service cost effective. The service is available for household hazardous waste such as:
- Household chemicals eg paint, white spirit, descalers
- Garden Products eg Pesticides, insecticides, lawn treatments
- Car maintenance products eg Antifreeze, brake fluid, lubricants
You can no longer dispose of liquid paint at Norfolk's Household Waste Recycling Centres. If you have old paint please consider offering it to friends or community groups or advertise it on community notice boards to enable someone else to use it. Alternatively you can leave the paint to dry out and dispose of the paint tin in your green household waste bin.
Norfolk County Council has free Hazardous Days where you can take your items to your local recycling centre.
