Update: New Planning System
Breckland Council's Planning and Building Control service is currently transitioning to a new IDOX back office IT system.
This will provide an improved service for our customers with improved communication and access to information, notifications of application progression and a more intuitive system to meet their needs.
While we carry out the move to the new system there will be a temporary disruption to some of the Planning and Building Control services we offer.
We will not, from the period between 13th September and 14th October, when the new system goes live be able to register/validate planning applications. Any applications submitted between these dates will be registered as soon as possible after the go live date.
Building Regulation applications will continue to be registered as normal.
Our Land Charges team will be the last to migrate and they too will have a period of disruption. We will not, from the period between 20th November and 9th December, when the new system goes live be able to accept any Searches (Official and Personal). Any searches submitted between these dates will be registered as soon as possible after the go live date. Work on searches submitted prior to this date will continue.
It may not be possible to search or comment on existing planning applications for a short period, but we will be trying to maintain normal business as much as possible in relation to live applications.
We expect the work required to move to the new system for planning will commence on 2nd September 2024 and will likely be complete around 14th October 2024, after which we hope our usual service will be resumed. Some documents may not be immediately available following the go live date, but we will be working collectively to ensure these will be available at the soonest opportunity.
The end date for Building Control is likely to be 20th October 2024.
The end date for Land Charges is likely to be 8th December 2024.
We will provide updated communications about the impact this will have on our service as and when we have certainty.
