29/12/2022: Support group awarded £5,000 Inspiring Communities grant

A Breckland-based group which supports people suffering with chronic health and mental health issues has been awarded a £5,000 Inspiring Communities grant by Breckland Council.
The Well-Come group, which is run from the Wellspring Family Centre in Dereham, supports over 50 people, with new referrals joining regularly via local social prescribers and GP practice referrals.
The group meets socially at the Dereham Wellspring family centre three times-a-week, where practical support, refreshments and a chance to socialise with others in a relaxed safe space environment is provided.
Phil Eggleton from the Well-Come Group, commented: "We would like to thank Breckland Council for this vital support which will allow us to expand our support to Breckland residents, fund a new project support role and ensure our project goes from strength to strength over the coming 12 months."
Cllr Alison Webb, Executive Member for Health & Communities at Breckland Council, commented: "The pandemic has left a lasting effect on our communities including a rise in mental health and chronic health issues. Through our Inspiring Communities programme and grant scheme we are committed to supporting our residents to recover and access the support they need. This project is making a real difference in our community, and I look forward to seeing how the Well-Come project develops over the next 12 months."
