09/07/2025: Breckland Council is proud to support the Festival of Thetford and Punjab

The Festival of Thetford and Punjab, a vibrant cross-cultural celebration, will be taking place from Saturday, 12 July to Sunday, 13 July In Thetford. Breckland Council is proud to have helped support the festival through £5000 funding via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
The Festival of Thetford and Punjab commemorates the rich cultural heritage and historic ties between Thetford and the Duleep Singh family, the last Royal Family of the Punjab. This year's programme promises a weekend full of engaging events, including activities at the Ancient House Museum and the much-anticipated Annual Curry Night at Thomas Paine Hotel on Saturday, followed by the lively Thetford Mela, featuring music, performances, and dance at Thetford Grammar School on Sunday.
Cllr Tristan Ashby, Executive Member for Health and Communities, said: "The Festival of Thetford and Punjab is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the range of cultures that contribute to our community. By supporting this festival, we are not only honouring our shared history but also fostering a spirit of unity and diversity that is at the heart of Breckland."
