14/10/2025: Breckland launches New Health and Wellbeing Partnership Strategy

Health and Wellbeing partnership

The Breckland Health and Wellbeing Partnership (HWP) has agreed on a new 2025-28 strategy which will be rolled out across the district.

The Partnership, which was founded in 2022, is one of eight within Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System working at a local level that focusses on improving health through prevention. The HWP aims to transform the way in which people access the right opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing.

The new 2025-28 strategy outlines a 'life course' approach, to reduce health inequalities throughout the different stages of life. The three-stage approach of Start Well; focused on preconception through to adolescence, Live Well; supporting healthy lifestyles and overall wellbeing for adults and Age Well; enabling older people to maintain their independence, remain connected within their communities and stay healthy and active. Additionally, the partnership will aim to prevent and reduce smoking, musculoskeletal conditions (MSK) and reducing violent crimes as well as improving infant feeding.

Cllr Tristan Ashby, Executive Member for Health and Communities and Chairman for the Health and Wellbeing Partnership board, said: "I am excited to see the difference our new strategy will have on Breckland residents. The Partnership, alongside its counterparts in each district, is recognised as an integral part of the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System. Our focus now turns to our new approach, building on a strong base of partnership working, to support people in Breckland to thrive in their communities, and live healthy, happy, fulfilling lives."
