Expressions of Interest - Inspection Services of Hackney Carriages (Taxis) and Private Hire Vehicles

Breckland Council is seeking expressions of interest from garages within the Breckland area to carry out inspections on new and existing licensed vehicles.

Breckland Council is responsible for the licensing of Private Hire vehicles and Hackney Carriages under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 and the Town and Police Clauses Act 1847.

Any expressions of interest should be submitted by 30 June 2025 to the Licensing Team, Breckland Council, Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke, Dereham, Norfolk, NR19 1EE or by email to the Licensing Team.

Please note you must be a Class 4 MOT Testing Station to apply.  Please include full contact and business details.

Following the closing date for expressions of interest, we will contact you with an application form and copy of the Breckland Mechanical Testing Standards.  Applications will then be assessed and nominated garages advised.
