20/07/22: Ashill fire - advice for residents

Breckland Council logo

Our thoughts are with everybody affected by the fire at Ashill on 19th July.

Breckland's officers were on site until the early hours of the morning (20/07/22) to support the response and our Housing Team have been calling people affected.

If you need support, please contact Breckland Council on 01362 656870.

Breckland's Community Enablers have been in the village providing advice and support on the ground.

Thank you to everybody who donated to the collection points. However, we believe we now have supplies to meet the immediate need, so there is no need for further donations at this time.

Our thanks goes to the Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service who did a fantastic job in incredibly challenging conditions, local councillors, Ashill Parish Council and Holme Hale Parish Council, the 4X4 response, Norfolk Constabulary officers, Lowland Rescue, members of the community, and even the local chip van who turned out to provide free hot food to those in need.

This has been a real tragedy for all involved, but once again shown the tremendous community spirit in Breckland.
