Make a Building Regulations Application

This page explains the routes available for submitting an application to Breckland Council Building Control, what you must provide, and important information about fees and validation.

How to Submit an Application

You can submit Building Regulations applications through the Planning Portal's Building Control service. It provides a straightforward online route to send plans and documents directly to us. Please note that Planning Portal submissions may include their own service charges, separate from Breckland Council's Building Control fees.

Submit an application via the Planning Portal

We are currently in the process of introducing a new online portal that will allow Building Regulations applications to be submitted directly into our back office IDOX system. This will streamline the submission process, remove the need for third party platforms, and ensure applications arrive with us immediately and in the correct format. Once the portal goes live, applicants will be able to upload plans, documents and forms directly to our system.

Need Advice Before Applying?

We are happy to assist with general queries about the Building Regulations process, so if you are unsure whether an application is needed, whether your project is exempt, or which route to apply through, please contact us before starting work.
