Referendum

A local referendum was held on 7 July 2022 to decide if the New Buckenham Neighbourhood Plan should become part of the council's development plan. The turnout was 44 per cent, of which 92 per cent (170) voted in favour of using the Plan to help decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area and 8 per cent (14) voted against.

Examination

The New Buckenham Neighbourhood Plan was subject to an Independent Examination that started on 15 October 2021. The Independent Examiner (Andrew Ashcroft) issued information about the Examination.

These documents and the responses are found on theNew Buckenham Neighbourhood Plan Examination.

The Examiner found that, subject to all of the policies being modified, the plan met the 'basic conditions' and recommended that it proceed to a local referendum. The decision to hold the referendum was agreed on 18 February 2022.

Submission Consultation (Reg.16)

The Breckland Council conducted the submission consultation, which started on 16 July 2021 and closed on 9 September 2021.

Environmental Assessment

These documents are produced to meet some of the requirements of the 'Basic Conditions', which are tested in the Examination of the Plan.

Pre-Submission Consultation (Reg.14)

New Buckenham Parish Council conducted their pre-submission consultation, which started on 21 December 2019 and closed on 14 February 2020.

Neighbourhood Plan Area Designation

New Buckenham Parish Council applied to designate a neighbourhood area on 4 January 2017.

Parishes included within the neighbourhood area: New Buckingham and part of Old Buckenham (Buckenham Castle)

Consultation was held on this area designation due to the boundary extending outside the Parish area boundary. The comments deadline was 3 March 2017.
