Skin Piercing Registration Application Notes
- The Breckland Council has resolved that Sections 14 to 17 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1982 shall apply to their area and that a fee of £307.67 be charged for registration of a skin piercing treatment.
- Subject to the provisions of the Act, no person shall carry on the practice of Acupuncture or the business of Tattooing, Cosmetic Piercing, Electrolysis or Semi-Permanent Skin Colouring unless that person is registered by the Local Authority.
- A person shall only carry on the practice or business in premises within the area registered for that purpose but a person who is registered does not contravene Sections 14 & 15 merely because he sometimes visits people to give them treatment at their request.
- Nothing in these sections shall extend to the practice or carrying on of business such as is mentioned in Note 2 above by or under the supervision of a person who is registered as a medical practitioner or to premises on which any such business is carried on by or under the supervision of such a person.
- Any person who contravenes Sections 14(1) or (2) or 15(1) or (2) shall be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000 and may have their registration suspended or cancelled.
