Breckland Council is celebrating recruiting 250 customers to its new business waste collection service, which is helping to save local businesses hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds in waste collection costs.

The 250th business to join the Breckland Council Business Waste Service was Norfolk County Catering from Ashill.

Antony Taylor, owner of Norfolk County Catering, commented: "I'm really happy with the decision to come on board with the service at Breckland Council. It's great that they are supporting smaller businesses as well as larger ones as we are a relatively new business. Norfolk County Catering was founded a year ago but we are going from strength to strength so will be expanding in the future."

The Breckland Council's Business Waste Service offers reliable, cost-effective business waste collections for businesses based in Dereham, Thetford, Attleborough, Watton, Swaffham and the surrounding rural areas. With flexible collections available to meet seasonal demands and extra waste collection for one-off events, the service now works with a wide variety of businesses across Breckland.

Cllr Helen Crane, Executive Member for Waste Services at Breckland Council, commented: "I am delighted with the feedback from the business community in Breckland and how we are helping them make major savings. No business is too small or too big to sign up to our flexible and reliable service, and with VAT exemptions in place for specific collection services, it's a great way for local businesses to be more cost efficient."
