Breckland Council Chairman, Cllr Peter Wilkinson, has helped raise £1,115 for the SANDS (the stillbirth and neonatal death charity) and Swaffham & Litcham Hospice following a highly successful charity quiz night held at the George Hotel in Swaffham.

As part of his Chairman's year Cllr Wilkinson is supporting SANDS, a charity dedicated to supporting families affected by stillbirth and neonatal death, as well as Swaffham and Litcham Hospice, which provides vital palliative care services to patients and their families.

Cllr Wilkinson expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown by our community and everyone who attended. It's heartening to see everyone come together for such worthy causes. The success of this event underscores the compassion and charitable spirit within Breckland. The funds raised will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of those supported by SANDS and Swaffham and Litcham Hospice."

The Chairman extended heartfelt thanks to the event sponsors, without whom this achievement wouldn't have been possible. Special appreciation was reserved for The George Hotel, Swaffham, Impsons Butchers and Norfolk Produce who supplied the catering. Discoasis from Narborough set the mood with their wonderful music and Phil Sherwood skilfully hosted the evening as quiz master. Starlings, Jana International Supermarket, Flowers of Swaffham, and Totally Branded, all based in Swaffham, also played a significant role providing gifts for the raffle and support during the event.
