A brand new community space and environmentally-friendly garden is to be created in South Lopham after Breckland Council agreed to transfer a parcel of land to the parish council. The land, on Norton Road, will be used by the parish council to create a new space for local residents to enjoy.

The area on Norton Road offers an area of green space where residents can come together, connect, and enjoy nature in a sustainable way. The South Lopham Parish Council plans to transform the space into an environmentally friendly garden that can be enjoyed by everyone in the community.

Cllr Paul Hewett, Executive Member for Property, Projects and Procurement said "Through transferring land to local parishes, we are empowering communities to re purpose land, creating a beneficial space for all. The collaboration between Breckland Council and South Lopham Parish Council highlights the importance of working together to build a more sustainable and inclusive future for all residents."

Cllr Marion Chapman-Allen, ward member for Guiltcross added "It is great to see this land being transferred back to South Lopham. The new plans will give residents an area to come together and enjoy nature."
