13/05/2025: Cherry Tree Farm Planning Applications Deferred

Breckland Council has confirmed that the planning applications for Cherry Tree Farm, Stow Bedon, have been deferred to a later date, following legal advice. The applications were originally scheduled for consideration at a Planning Committee meeting on Tuesday 13 May 2025. The decision was then taken to hold a special Planning Committee on Monday 19 May to take account of the level of public interest.

However, following the Council's decision to hear the applications on 19 May, a significant number of representations were received from the public, raising issues regarding the information submitted with the applications and ensuring that all the relevant information was on the Council's website.

The Council has taken legal advice and, in order to fully consider the matters raised — and to allow the applicant the opportunity to respond — it has been decided that the applications should be deferred to a future meeting, with a new date to be confirmed.

Councillor Sarah Suggitt, Executive Member for Planning and Housing, said: "We understand how important these applications are to the local community, and we want to ensure that every representation made is given the time and attention it deserves. Deferring the decision gives everyone involved the opportunity to reflect fully on the public input and ensures the process remains thorough, fair, and transparent."

A new date for the Planning Committee meeting will be published in due course on the Council's website.
