16/07/2025: Breckland Council Welcomes New 24-Hour Budgens Local at Riverside Thetford

People in the heart of Thetford will soon be able to make use of a brand-new shop which will shortly open at the town's Riverside Leisure Complex.
Breckland Council owns and manages the site, which will soon be home to a new Budgens Local 24-hour shop. The shop will be run by Karvin Retail Ltd, is scheduled to open its doors on Monday, 21 July and will offer access to a variety of high-quality grocery items.
Budgens Local will be joining 7 Pecado's restaurant, Snap Fitness and The Light Cinema in the Anchor Place complex. This is part of Breckland Council's ongoing commitment to support businesses and create a thriving community. Through offering a 24-hour alternative, the Budgens Local shop will increase accessibility to produce for both residents and visitors across the district.
Cllr Paul Hewett, Executive Member for Property, Projects, and Procurement, said: "We are delighted to welcome Budgens Local to Riverside Thetford. This new store represents a significant investment in our community and will create jobs, enhance local amenities, and provide a convenient shopping option for residents and visitors alike."
Pavan, National Retail Manager for Karvin Retail, said: " We are proud to bring the first 24-hour Karvin's Budgens to Thetford, right in the heart of Riverside Leisure Complex. This store is designed to meet the needs of the community and visitors, offering round-the-clock convenience, barista-made Illy coffee, fresh food-to-go, and a unique concept where you can customise your salads and sandwiches. We are also launching Scoot, our online delivery platform soon, so customers can enjoy the same great prices you see on our shelves, delivered right to your door. This is all part of our commitment to convenience, quality, and community."
