25/07/2025: Breckland partners with the Federation of Small Businesses to help fund memberships

FSB UKSPF

Breckland Council is proud to announce it is collaborating with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to enable businesses in the district to benefit from FSB membership at a significantly reduced cost. This means that more sole traders and small businesses will be able to reap the benefits of membership, in line with the Council's commitment to boosting Breckland businesses and creating thriving high streets.

FSB is the UK's leading membership organisation for small businesses and the self-employed. Its wide range of membership benefits include access to a 24/7 legal and employment helpline, a resource hub of 1,500+ legal documents and templates, protection from tax investigations, access to a debt recovery service, cash-back on business banking, and much more.

Through the Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Breckland Council has a total of £5,000 to pay towards the cost of memberships, which means businesses pay from as little as £50 for a two-year membership. Full costing details are available on the Council's website.

Cllr Paul Claussen, Executive Member for Economic Development and Growth, commented: "We're delighted to be working with the Federation of Small Businesses to make it easier and more affordable for Breckland businesses to access their invaluable support. This partnership reflects our continued commitment to strengthening the local economy, supporting entrepreneurship, and helping our district's high streets thrive. By reducing the cost barrier, we hope more businesses will take advantage of the FSB's excellent services and resources."

Candy Richards, FSB's Development Manager, said: "FSB membership is a lifeline for small businesses, so it is fantastic that Breckland Council has invested in supporting their local business community through a subsidised membership scheme. Our 24/7 legal advice service has helped thousands of small businesses navigate their way through setting up and running a business. Additionally, our perks such as free or cash-back on business banking and specialist insurance services makes membership invaluable for Breckland's small businesses."

Due to the expected popularity of the scheme, businesses are encouraged to apply early. Visitwww.breckland.gov.uk/business-growth/FSB to submit an expression of interest.
