31/10/2025: Your plan. Your future. Your say. - Breckland's Local Plan consultation launches

Breckland Council has launched a major public consultation that will give local people the chance to help shape how the district grows and develops over the next 20 years.

Through the message "Your plan. Your future. Your say.", the consultation invites everyone who lives, works, studies, or runs a business in Breckland to share their views on where new homes, jobs, and infrastructure should go, how we build a more sustainable district that protects our environment, and how best to enhance the character of the towns, villages, and countryside that make Breckland special.

At its heart, the campaign asks a simple but vital question: How should Breckland grow?

Leader of Breckland Council, Cllr Sam Chapman-Allen, said:

"This is your plan, your future, and your chance to have your say on how Breckland should grow. The Local Plan will guide where new homes are built, where we create jobs, and what we protect for generations to come.

"By taking part, you're helping to put local voices at the heart of Breckland's future. Whether you care about affordable homes, green spaces, transport, or the character of your town or village, we want to hear from you."

The Local Plan sets the long-term framework for how Breckland will meet Government housing targets and deliver the right infrastructure, while ensuring growth is sustainable and reflects local priorities.

The consultation will run for six weeks, closing on 15 December 2025, and residents can take part online or by attending in-person engagement sessions being held across Breckland's five market towns.

Feedback gathered during this stage will shape the next version of the Local Plan, which will be published in 2026.
