16/12/2025: Big Breckland Breakfast to support farmers and rural communities
Breckland Council is to hold its inaugural 'Big Breckland Breakfast' to bring together people from across the district's farming and rural communities for a morning of conversation, connection, and support.
The free community-focused event will take place at 9am on Monday, 19 January 2026, at Algy's Farm Café in Bintree.
Recognising the vital role that everyday interactions play in rural life, this event is for farmers and other people involved in the fabric of Breckland's country communities. From pub landlords and parish councillors to post office staff, veterinarians, and farming families, each plays a crucial role in maintaining the well-being of rural areas. We understand that working in agriculture is demanding and this event is a chance to discover practical ways to look after yourself as much as the land you care for.
Breckland Council is committed to promoting a supportive and connected community, especially in rural areas where individuals may experience isolation. The 'Big Breckland Breakfast' is an opportunity for those who care about their community to come together, share experiences, and strengthen the networks that keep our rural communities thriving.
Cllr Tristan Ashby, Executive Member for Health and Communities, said: "We are excited to host the 'Big Breckland Breakfast' and bring together the incredible people who make up our rural communities. It's a chance to connect, support each other, and ensure that no one feels alone. Together, we can continue to look out for one another and build a stronger, more supportive community."
There is no need to register for the event, people can just turn up on the day. For more information, email phil.garnham@breckland.gov.uk.
