19 April 2026: Cultural Consortium - Railway Reflections

The Railway arrived in Swaffham in 1847, and the last train departed in 1968.

On Sunday 19th April, we will celebrate the impact of the railway on our Norfolk market town, and you are invited!

With photos and maps on display curated by the Museum of Swaffham; a walking railway trail and children's attractions, this promises to be a memorable event for railway enthusiasts, residents and visitors alike.

To complement the event, we would like to invite railway modellers to come along and display their layouts. We invite layouts of all gauges. Space is limited, so we encourage modellers to let us know whether they would like to be part of this unique event quickly!
