9 October 2026: Dr Minns and Victorian Thetford - Home Education Workshop

Discover the amazing story of Dr Minns, the first black mayor in Britain who was mayor of Thetford. Meet costumed characters to find out about his life, his work as doctor at Thetford workhouse and learn about Thetford during the Victorian and Edwardian era.

This workshop is aimed at children aged 8 to 12 years old but older and younger children are welcome too.
