How do I take over an existing premises licence?

A transfer of a Premises Licence can be applied for when a new party wishes to become the new Premises Licence holder.  If a current Premises Licence lapses (e.g. through bankruptcy or death) a person or company has 28 days to apply to transfer the licence into their name, after this time a new Premises Licence will have to be applied for.  A transfer can take immediate effect, or you can specify a certain date.

You should make sure the premises licence annual fee has been paid otherwise the licence is likely to be suspended

You can choose for the transfer to take place with immediate effect or to specify a date for the transfer.
